Over the centuries and still at the present time, Christians--from scholars and students to people in the pew--have been troubled by vexing questions and apparent contradictions in the Bible. In this encyclopedia of Bible difficulties, Dr. Gleason Archer offers carefully thought-out arguments for the unity and integrity of the Bible that should convince the skeptic and reassure the person who may be confused by the seeming discrepancies in Scripture.

Dr. Archer’s answers are sometimes simple insights that seem afterward to have been obvious all along. But more often his answers are based on a careful study of the meaning of words, the cultural context of Bible eras, knowledge of the Hebrew numbering system, and many other details not readily known to the average Bible reader. Some answers are given as plausible, not final, solutions, for still "we know in part."
