Ultra Butter Beans
These are good for Easter and other times, too.

- 8 strips of bacon
- 1/4 cup chopped onions
- 2-large cans butter beans
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- Salt to taste
Fry bacon strips to crisp, drain, then crumble to tiny pieces. Set aside.
Put beans (with juice) in a pot to cook on stove, or a slow cooker. Add all remaining ingredients except bacon. Simmer to allow flavors to work through, about 30 minutes. Drain juices, put in serving bowl, then sprinkle bacon pieces over top.
