I spent about an hour and a half walking all 7 floors of Sim Lim with my brother in law and Jonathan. As you take the escalator up each floor, there are often people handing out flyers for the stores on that floor. At one floor Stephen told me have some fun with them. So I started in with “Vot is this? Can you vread this to me?” So the soon obviously semi-literate Indian looking lady starts trying to read the paper to me trying to explain it was about sales. “Sales of vwot?” I would ask. She then pointed to the pictures and told me about the “ipod shavers” that were on sale. “Shaver? For shaving? Vwot shaving have to do with ipod?” I had a lot of time trying to get her to explain that one to me….. Later on another floor without hawkers, I had fun pushing the sheaf of papers onto people coming to that floor, got rid of my stack in record time…. Works well here, since Borat isn’t allowed to be shown in the threatres….
