Q. Where did Marilyn Monroe's name come from?

• A. In an article in June 2005 Playboy magazine , Marilyn Revealed, written by Neal Gabler, claims that a studio executive invented her name. According to a letter in the October 2005 issue of Playboy, titled "Marilyn for President" by Richard Aldrich, claims that Norma Jeane and Fox starlet Laurette Luez invented the name while brainstorming. Norma Jeane supplied the Marilyn first name, but to find a last name they looked at the last names of the various presidents of the United States. Aldrich claims he was told this story by Luez who was a close friend.
