One friend told a story of how a man who had too much Durian Fruit to eat before a flight caused the flight to be delayed when he belched after getting on the plane, causing the plane to be filled with the disagreeable smell of durian fruit.
According to the article "Fruit Causes Airport Chaos" in an Australian newspaper:
A Virgin Blue flight was delayed for four hours because someone had some durian in their checked luggage. The flight was delayed by four hours as airline staff removed the durian from the cargo hold. Rescue squad workers said they could smell it from 50 feet away from the airplane. The owner of the box had tried to use carpet deodorizer to mask the smell of the fruit.
"Brisbane Magistrate Jim Herlihy yesterday suggested idiots were being confused with terrorists".
