According to Greenspan, growing deficits and retirement of Baby Boomers require cuts in Social Security and Medicare to avoid economy damaging tax cuts. Within 10 years, the baby boomers will start drawing social security, giving Congress a "resonably short" time to act.
"Alan Greenspan is right to call attention to the record-shattering deficit under President George Bush," the senator said.
